Editorial policy
On this page
This page explains how we research, write and update the guides on Reunoa Learn — and how we handle the fact that we also make a skincare product.
Our principles
- Useful first. Every page should answer a real question from our readers in the first few sentences.
- Evidence you can check. Claims about health and ingredients link to their sources.
- Honest about limits. We say when evidence is small, mixed or from a different situation than yours.
- Medicines are never the enemy. We never advise stopping, reducing or replacing a prescribed medicine.
- Transparent about money. We make a product; we say so.
How we choose sources
We prefer, in this order:
- systematic reviews and randomised controlled trials indexed in PubMed
- official health information from MedlinePlus (U.S. National Library of Medicine), the NHS, DermNet and the American Academy of Dermatology
- other peer-reviewed studies, clearly described (for example "a small study of 22 people")
- product information published by manufacturers, only for describing those products
Every PubMed reference is checked: we confirm that the article exists, read at least its abstract, and make sure our sentence matches what the study actually found. We never claim that a study tested Reunoa unless it did. We don't invent statistics or quotes.
Medical topics
Our guides are general information, not medical advice. Each guide on a health condition includes clear signs for when to contact a doctor. We write for adults over 55 and caregivers in plain English, aiming for a comfortable reading level.
Medical review
We're setting up independent review by a qualified clinician. When a page has been reviewed, the reviewer's name and qualifications will appear at the top of that page. We won't show a reviewer for pages they haven't reviewed.
How we handle our own product
Reunoa publishes this site and sells Reunoa Bruise Defense & Repair Serum. To keep things fair:
- Product boxes and links to our store are labelled, and our store links are marked as sponsored for search engines.
- Comparison pages explain their method and include a disclosure.
- We compare products on published ingredient lists and evidence, not on paid placement. We don't accept payment from other brands.
- We include criticism of our own product, such as the most common complaints in our reviews page.
- We don't make claims that our cosmetic cures, heals or treats medical conditions.
- We don't publish fake reviews, and we don't add review ratings to search results without a verifiable source.
Our own data
Our Fragile Skin Report 2027 uses aggregated, anonymous answers from our online skin quiz. We publish only counts and percentages, never individual answers; we describe exactly how the data was collected and its limits; and we only report numbers the data actually supports.
Customer questions
Many of our topics come from real questions sent to our support team. We use them only as anonymous inspiration — never names, order details or anything that could identify a person.
Images
Some photographs on this site are AI-generated illustrations, created to show typical situations respectfully without photographing real patients. They're not before-and-after results. Product photos show the real Reunoa bottle.
Updates and corrections
Each page shows the date it was last updated. We review our main guides at least once a year and sooner when new research or official guidance appears. If you spot an error, please tell us via our contact page. We correct factual errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page.
Who writes our guides
Our guides are written and edited by Margaret Hale, the pen name of our senior health editor.
